I'm leaving this in its original format and with its first date.. b/c this is the third time I've tried to post it....
So, it's Friday night and despite being known as a veritable social butterfly (snort) and the multitude of offers I've had for this evening (okay, crawfish with the work gang or bowling with the sunday school classs), I find myself at home in my comfy pj's (eating hot-and-sour soup and laughing at the irony of my fortune cookie: "Do it because you love it") typing this-probably for several different reasons...(1) I just got home from work a little while ago and I'm tired (2) I'm in a pretty foul mood because I'm on call and will be at work ALL weekend with "help" (used very loosely) who just well, isn't, who hits on all my type A receptors, who pings my pong....you get the picture... and (3) I'm kinda scared the blog nazi (aka JB-I think) may track me down if I don't update my blog. :)
I got to visit Stacy last week (yeah!) in Monroe......just me, the mazda (sans mysterious noise, which turned out to be the alternator belt and was quickly replaced by my old pal {we began our relationship last year when we bonded over the delicacies of CV joint repair} with the crooked eye and chewing tobacco habit at the neighborhood automotive one stop) my cd player, and 200+ miles of open road....other than the occasional "sheesh, am I there YET?" moments and when I almost missed my exit on the Alexandria traffic circle (and had a Chevy Chase European Vacation moment) the journey was rather uneventful.
Stacy, as always, was a gracious hostess and her new house is so awesome!!! By the way, the Rome pictures in the office are my absolute favorite... And Stace, I did pray repent and pray for forgiveness for that soggy s'mores comment...I know, but I really meant that time... :)
I was off the rest of the week...and everything was low-key....spent some time at the family homestead in Livingston...everyone is pretty well, but my newphew has the worst case of mononucleosis I've ever seen....ick. Much to his dismay, it was not acquired by swapping spit with a girl, but with one of his baseball teammates...as in, "hey, dude, can I have some of your Powerade?" he's slightly improved and narrowly missed being hospitalized... praying for a speedy recovery for him because, as he says, "I got things to do..."
My sister's dog had 10 puppies...she never expected to be a grandmother before the age of 30.
It was great to catch up with an old friend...Deedj, love 'ya...the gossip table offer still stands..
Finally, finally my long-awaited Billy Blanks Billy's Bootcamp DVD's came in (the result of a weak moment with too much remote-in-hand-time about one month ago)...with much anticipation began said exercise regimen. I would just like to say...ouch...had major technical difficulties as almost lost vision in left eye secondary to most unfortunate accident with the elastic power band...for future reference and your own safety, I highly recommend making sure all ceiling fans be turned off durning use of the video. (don't ask) My favorite things were the free gifts...the one week supply of tae bo energy formula vitamins, which look suspiciously like cardboard particulate matter, and the motivational dog tags labeled "will power" and "spirit." Yep, I had several moments where a spirit came over me and I had just enough will power to want to kick the behind of that bottled blonde hussy in the front row with the 6-pack and what appears to be 2% body fat...
keep on keepin' on

your adventures in exercising cracked me up! i think you should wear those dog tags every day. i mean sure it's not a pen with a frog that does flips but you need some motivation and will power to keep from going off on the "help"...
Two words for ya girl, "Saftey Goggles"...ha!ha! You alway crack me up. I am truly glad that we had a chance to hang out while you were home...I love that the gossip table never ends...
